KENT, Conn.—Applications are open for the Social Services Back to School program.
This program is for students in grades K-12 who are residents of Kent and whose families need assistance covering the expenses of their children returning to school.Â

Each child receives a backpack of their choice filled with supplies as well as a gift card for clothing and shoes.
There is no need to provide proof of household income or SNAP/food stamp benefits, but applicants must have a documented need for assistance and/or have accessed other need-based programs within the last 12 months.
