KENT, Conn. — Summer fun will continue this weekend when Kent Memorial Library holds its sixth Kent Carnival.

The event will be offered Saturday, Aug. 30, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Golden Falcon Field at 20 N. Main St.

There will be something for everyone.

The event will feature a touch-a-truck and activities such as wood working, art projects, meet the pets, inflatables, games, wood working activities, and music.

Prizes will be awarded for winners of games. 

Those looking to enjoy a special treat can head to the booth with snow cones. Restaurants and eateries will also be open for carnival-goers.

A number of nonprofit organizations are expected to partner with the library to offer booths and activities at the event.

In addition to the library, participating groups include the Kent Lions Club, Merryall Center, Kent Chamber of Commerce, Project Sage, Kent Land Trust, Little Guild, Kent Volunteer Fire Department, Kent Quilters, Trades Up!, Kent Affordable Housing, Kent Parks and Recreation, and The Kent Dispatch.

Some organizations will offer activities, including The Kent Dispatch which invites youth to participate in a “Kid Reporter” activity. 

Carnival activities are subject to change depending on the weather.

Five-dollar wristbands will be available, with one charge per family for all games.
