KENT, Conn.—Put on your running shoes and get ready for the Kent Chamber of Commerce’s 49th annual Pumpkin Run, the town’s largest one-day community event, which will be held at noon on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Runners (and walkers) will traverse five spooky miles of tradition, fun and community spirit. Runners are encouraged to demonstrate their creativity by wearing costumes.
The annual race is organized by the chamber with the help of many volunteers and sponsors. It begins and ends in front of the Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Blvd., and travels along one of the most scenic courses in Connecticut.
Cash prizes are awarded for the overall top three male and women runners, and there are special prizes for second- and third-place male and female runners in each age division.
Each year the race has a wide variety of costume-clad runners, and all are encouraged to join in the fun. Prizes for costumes will be awarded.
The Kids Fun Run takes place at 11:15 a.m. and is open to children 12 years old and younger. The Fun Run features both half-mile mile and one-mile options. Each runner receives a race bib and a prize. There will also be a costume contest for the kids.
