KENT, Conn.—Kenise Barnes Fine Art will present “The Naturalist,” a group exhibition bringing together five artists.
The show features works by Richard Klein, KK Kozik, Sally Maca, Rick Shaefer and Tricia Wright, whose practices engage deeply with the natural world: its forms, systems, histories and enduring mysteries.

The exhibit opens Saturday, Aug. 1, with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. and continues through Sept. 13.
Working across drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media, the artists in “The Naturalist” share a commitment to close looking and material sensitivity. They offer a multifaceted meditation on how contemporary artists act as naturalists: attentive observers, interpreters of living systems, and translators of nature’s complexity into visual form.
Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. and by appointment. The gallery is located at 7 Fulling Lane; www.kbfa.com or 860-560-3085.
