KENT, Conn.—The Kent Transfer Station continues to expand its Earth-friendly operations. Saturday, it began a tire collection program, allowing residents to dispose of tires from light vehicles such as small RVs, light trucks, motorcycles, golf carts, all-terrain vehicles, small utility trucks, trailers, mobile homes, and lawn and garden tractors.

Also accepted are medium-size tires from trucks, buses and highway trailers, as well as tires on rims falling within the categories identified above.
Not accepted are tires from aircraft or earthmoving vehicles, road building, mining, logging, agricultural, construction or industrial vehicles, or tires more than more than 42 inches in diameter or weighing more than 120 pounds.
There is a maximum of six tires per person per day.
