KENT, Conn.—Homeowners and Kent residents are invited to attend a workshop on Connecticut Green Bank’s Smart-E Loan program Saturday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at the Kent Town Hall.
The presentation is co-sponsored by the Kent Sustainability Team and the Kent Memorial Library.
“We are excited to partner again with CT Green Bank to share this information with Kent,” said Lynn Mellis Worthington, chair of the Kent Sustainability Team. “This is the second in a series our group has offered this year to educate residents about sustainability topics.”
The first session was on solar energy in January.
Homeowners seeking to reduce their energy costs or increase energy efficiency will learn methods to finance improvements, such as insulation, window replacements, fortified roofs, heating and cooling systems, water heating, solar energy, septic systems and wells, floodproofing and battery storage. This loan program is also applicable to condominium owners who have separate meters.
The Smart-E Loan program is designed to make energy efficiency and home upgrades more affordable. At this session, participants will learn how Smart-E Loans provide low-interest, flexible financing with fixed monthly payments and no-money-down options to support a wide range of home energy-related and resiliency upgrades.
Bill Colonis, associate director of the Smart-E program, will walk participants through eligibility requirements, the application process and how to connect with participating contractors and lenders.
Connecticut homeowners in owner-occupied one-to-four-unit properties are encouraged to attend and learn more. Connecticut Green Bank is a quasi-public authority created by the Connecticut General Assembly in 2011. It leverages public dollars to attract private capital investment for clean energy projects.
This event is hybrid. The in-person option will be hosted at the Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Blvd.
