KENT – Kent Park and Recreation’s Eggstravaganza returned for the third year and attracted more than 100 children to Kent Common Park to gather up eggs and prizes.
Park and Rec Director Matt Busse and volunteer Bethany Keck said that 3,000 eggs were placed on the park fields and on the tennis courts for the different age groups of children to collect. Dave Fairty and his crew from Regency Real Estate helped stuff the eggs and co-sponsored the event, along with Kent Memorial Library’s Junior Room and Kent Community Nursery School. Fairty was busy with other volunteers helping distribute gift bags and prizes.
In addition to candy inside the colorful plastic eggs, there were gold coins inside that children could exchange for prizes that included newly designed Kent water bottles, sunglasses, jump ropes, crayons and other small items. There were three grand prizes of amazon gift cards donated by the Northwest Corner Prevention Network.
Following the search for eggs, children and families gathered to enjoy the new playground equipment on the sunny day.
