NEW MILFORD, Conn.—Merryall continues its 75th anniversary season with two nights of original folk music.

On Saturday, Aug. 29, at 7:30 p.m., Louise Coombe and George Mallas present their unique musical styles, each creating a journey through lives both real and imagined.

Mallas is a pianist whose voice and songwriting are reminiscent of Jackson Brown or Cat Stevens in tone and complexity. Coombe is a guitar player with southern roots that often show in the scenes she creates in her songs, whether set in fields or cities.

An evening with the two of them features a back and forth of styles, as they present some works on their own and some together. Their collaborations are a clear demonstration that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
