WASHINGTON, Conn.—The Hen’s Nest Gallery will open “Home is Where the Heart Is,” an exhibition of works by architect and artist Cynthia B. Crier, with a reception Saturday, Oct. 10, from 3 to 5 p.m.

The show will run through the rest of the month at the fine art gallery and boutique located at 2 Green Hill Road in Washington Depot. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A transplanted Texan, Crier received her BS in architecture from the University of Texas and her BA and Master’s degree in architecture from Cornell. She has lived in New York City since 1987.
Many Renaissance architects studied first as painters. Crier reversed that course over the past seven years, moving instead from architecture to art. Like a writer, she paints what she knows, ranging from scenes of her West Village neighborhood to landscapes across America.
She is an award-winning published artist and is currently a member of both the National Association of Women Artist and Pen & Brush.
