KENT, Conn.—With school back in session, the Rev. Steve Klots, chaplain of South Kent School, is again collecting clothes for the Church Street Eats soup kitchen and clothing- distribution program in Hartford.

South Kent School students last delivered clothing to the Church Street Eats soup kitchen in April 2024. They are resuming their collection at St. Andrew’s Church in Kent this fall. Photo contributed

There is a particular need for men’s clothing—shirts, pants, sweatshirts, socks, clean underwear, shoes, coats—as well as blankets.

Klots takes South Kent School students and clothing over to Church Street Eats at least once a month throughout the school year.

The collection box is in the narthex of St. Andrew’s Church at 1 N. Main St.
