The Kent Dispatch is a non-partisan, nonprofit news and information source committed to building community and enhancing the lives of our residents, businesses and organizations by providing trusted local information and covering topics of interest to the Kent community. Kent News, Inc., relaunched the Kent Dispatch in 2022, bringing back Kent’s hometown paper that originally dates back to 1952.
Our History
The Kent Good Times Dispatch was Kent, CT’s hometown paper for more than half a century, from its birth in 1952 as a Boy Scout troop project until its temporary pause in publication in 2009. During the pandemic, longtime residents and newcomers expressed a desire to bring back this community news source and relaunched the Kent Good Times Dispatch as a non-profit, online paper in October 2023. We shortened the name to the Kent Dispatch in the fall of 2025 but continue to carry on the same mission of connecting and informing the wider Kent community. Read our full history here.
