KENT, Conn.—The Kent Memorial Library is exhibiting “Winter Whispers,” artwork by Shannon Blanton, through Friday, Jan. 2.

Shannon Blanton is a visual artist currently based in Litchfield County. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions nationally and collected internationally. 

She received a BA from Centre College in Danville, Ky., in art history with a focus on medieval iconography as well as a concentration on studio work. She also earned a certificate in Appraisal Studies of Fine and Decorative Art from New York University. Early in her career she established a studio practice in Bushwick, NY, while also working in the commercial gallery world.

In New York she also co-founded “Nude with a Goose” with Berit Hoff, creating pop-up exhibitions of the works of international and emerging artists in spaces around New York City.

The exhibit can be viewed during library hours, Mondays through Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The gallery is located at 32 North Main St.
