SHARON, Conn.—The Hotchkiss Library of Sharon will hold its Fall Author Series on three afternoons this fall.
Appearing will be Susan Choi, author of “Flashlight”; Peter Kuper, author and illustrator of “Insectopolis: A Natural History;” and Aleksandra Crapanzano, author of “Chocolat: Parisian Desserts and Other Delights.”

National Book Award-winning Susan Choi will read from and discuss her latest novel, “Flashlight,” on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 4:30 p.m. The book was just longlisted for this year’s Booker Prize and traces a father’s disappearance across time, nations. and memory.
On Sunday, Oct. 5., at 4 p.m., Peter Kuper will offer a presentation of his illustrations and discuss his creative process and his fascination with insects. Hailed by both artists and scientists, “Insectopolis: A Natural History,” is a graphic history of 400 million years of insects and the remarkable entomologists who have studied them.
Kuper is the author and illustrator of several books, including his critically acclaimed adaptations of “Alice in Wonderland,” “Heart of Darkness,” and “Metamorphosis.”
His editorial cartoons appear in The New Yorker, Nation, and Charlie Hebdo.
On Sunday, Nov. 16, at 4 p.m., Aleksandra Crapanzano will discuss her new cookbook, “Chocolat: Parisian Desserts and Other Delights.”
The bestselling, James Beard Award-winning food writer and author of “Gâteau” will discuss the French love affair with chocolate and demonstrate one of the book’s elegant recipes.
Attendees will learn about the author’s take on gâteau au chocolat, profiteroles, éclairs, and buches de Noël. The recipes are user-friendly for bakers of all abilities.
Books will be available for purchase at all three programs. Registration is required for each event.
