KENT, Conn.—A two-car crash occurred on Route 7 near Kent Falls State Park during Tuesday Dec. 2’s, snowstorm and sent two people to Danbury Hospital, according to Kent Volunteer Fire Department Chief Alan Gawal.

All three persons involved in the accident were evaluated by EMS personnel. It is believed the two persons transported have been released.

The call came in at 11:03 a.m. as the first major snowfall of the year intensified. Kent Rescue 8 and both of the community’s ambulances responded, with the Cornwall fire company and ambulance providing mutual aide. NuVance Medic 4 and the Connecticut State Police were on the scene, as was park manager Josh Rimany and a few motorists who stopped to help.

The road was closed briefly.

Gawel extended the fire department’s thanks to these good Samaritans. “It was wonderful to see citizens helping others during times of need,” he said.
