KENT, Conn.—The Kent Memorial Library will kick off its summer reading program for adults: “S.P.I.C.E. Up Your Life, Explore History!” Friday, June 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. S.P.I.C.E. is the acronym of the five foundational themes historians use to analyze and categorize human history: Social, Political,Interactions, Cultural, Economic.

Refreshments will be served while signing up for the adult summer reading program. The program will run from July 1 to Aug. 28, and for every book read, the reader earns one raffle ticket. Winning ticket drawings will be held July 30 and Aug. 28 with one gift basket awarded at the end of each month, July 31 and August 30.
The gift baskets will contain an assortment of dried spices and a $50 gift certificate for a local business of the winner’s choice. Registration to the adult summer reading program is limited to individuals 18 years and older.
