From The Den:

Lots to catch up on! At our April meeting we were hosted by South Kent School. Head of School Brian Sullivan was our guest speaker. We heard about the various initiatives focusing on our local community and the environment. We look forward to collaborating in the future.

Our May meeting was supposed to be an outside picnic, but the chilly, wet weather chased us inside.

It is our sincerest pleasure to raise money to support many of our local organizations: Kent Community Fund, Housing for the Elderly/ Templeton Farms, the Kent Food Bank, Affordable Housing, Conundrum Farm/ Kent Land Trust CSA’s collaboration with the Food Bank, Kent Community Nursery School, the local Boy Scout/Cub Scout troops, the Housatonic Youth Service Bureau, the Jane Lloyd Fund and Kent Memorial Library.

We will be announcing the recipients of our four scholarships in June.

We are also pleased to share that our membership has grown to 75, including five new members: Joe Agli, JillScholsohn, Constance Matson, Audrey King and Vicky O’Hara. It is exciting to bring new energy into our organization. Those who are interested in checking out a meeting to see if you’d like to get information about joining, should send an email to info@KentLions.org.

Our “Famous’ brooms are now available at Kent Wine & Spirits. Brooms are $15—swing in and pick one up for your spring cleaning.

On Friday, June 16, we are hosting a Red Cross Blood drive. There are still appointments available. To sign up click here
