KENT, Conn.—Spaces are still available for a Children’s Music Recital at Kent Community House on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m.

The event, organized by Kristina Nikola Knutson, is meant to be a low-pressure way for children to get to know one another, and is not a formal presentation.
Children of all ages are welcome to participate, but performance spots are limited to 25 and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. All musical instruments are welcome including strings, winds, percussion, voice and more.
There is no piano provided at the Community House but an 88-key Alesis Recital Pro digital piano with pedal and step stool will be available. Children are welcome to use the piano or bring their own instruments.
After the recital children who enjoy singing will have a chance to participate in a karaoke session with a microphone.
Children are welcome to bring a piece of art, craft or handmade project to share following the recital. During refreshment time, kids will have an opportunity to talk about what they brought and tell the story behind it. Weather permitting, children can also play outside afterward.
Performers must sign up in advance to secure a performance spot. Submitting the sign-up form is a request to participate; confirmation will be sent once a spot is approved.
Families and friends are welcome to enjoy the afternoon of music and to support the young performers. A donation basket will be available to help cover the cost of the space and refreshments. Any contribution is appreciated but not required.
