WASHINGTON, Conn.—The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is conjuring up some spooktacular Halloween magic this year with a Jack-O-Lantern contest at the Halloween-themed farmers market on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Kids and adults alike are invited to enter their ghoulishly creative jack-o-lanterns into the contest.
Pre-carved or pre-painted pumpkins should be delivered to the 1 Green Hill Road park between 9 and 10 a.m. Voting will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and the public is invited to cast ballots.
Winners will be announced at 12:30 p.m. and first, second and third-place winners will be announced in both the kids and adult categories.
The public is invited to wear their Halloween costumes to the park during the market, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Kids can trick-or-treat with the vendors until the cauldrons run dry and paint pumpkins while supplies last.
As the literal and figurative town square, the Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens hosts community events lsuch as outdoor movies, a seasonal farmers market, rotating art exhibits, live music, theater readings and productions, book talks, lectures, children’s arts and crafts, holiday celebrations and much more.
