SHERMAN, Conn.—The Sherman Library will open a group show featuring artists from the ninth annual Great Hollow Juried Painting and Photography Show, which was held in May and raised $1,700 for the nature preserve.

The artists reception will be held at the library on Friday, Aug. 28, 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will be on display at the Sherman Library from the 28th through Oct. 14, both at the Library and on its website.

The Sherman Library show will showcase these selected painters and photographers: Christy Bonaiuto, John Charles, Phyllis Chadwick, John Clery, Carolyn Cohen, Betsy Duckworth, John Foley, Jeff Ginsburg, Karen Golden, Linda Hubbard, Bonnie Johnson, Dave King, Beth Levine, Susan Locke, Christina Maschke, Dena Mitchell, Cynthia O’Connor, Masumi O’Donnell, Virginia Schaffer and B Forrest Sheperd.

The featured artists, using their paint brushes or cameras, have captured the beauty of the seasons, the rural landscape, the antics of bears, the beauty of a bird, the joy of gardens and more.

The library is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m.– 6 p.m., Thursday, 11a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
