KENT, Conn. — The Kent Art Association will offer an opening reception Saturday, Sept. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. for two concurring exhibits.

The gallery’s new show, “Sculpture Invitational Show,” and “Yesterday & Today,”

The latter features works by Thomas Franken, an artist and designer. His portfolio encompasses a variety of media including paintings (oil and acrylic), silk screen prints, collages, graphic arts, greeting cards, and designs in wood.

The show features more than 25 original works of art, many of which are larger paintings and have never been shown before.
