LITCHFIELD, Conn.—The Inaugural Montfort Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit opens Saturday, May 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bantam River Meadow, 50 Montfort Road, off Route 118.
There will be 30 installations by 20 artist/sculptors from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Litchfield Arts Council, the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council, the Society of Connecticut Sculptors, the New England Sculpture Association, and the New England Foundation for the Arts.
The exhibition theme is Contemplation & Reflection.
During the opening, after a welcome by Don LaSalle, director of the Shrine of Lourdes in Litchfield and Montfort House Spiritual Center at Montfort Missionaries USA, and Denise Raap, Litchfield’s first selectman, members of the public can hear directly from the sculptors as to why their installation connects to the theme.
The opening reception includes a wine tasting sponsored by the award-winning Sunset Meadow Vineyards in Goshen, and a poetry reflection by Litchfield’s Poet Laureate and author Robert Piazza.

The exhibition will be open to the public seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Nov. 15, with free admission.
Participating artists include Michael Angelicola, Bob Keating, Justin Perlman, Quinn Boothe, Mackenzie Silk, Josh Reynolds, Joy Brown, Hugh MacDonald, David Skora, Susan Clinard, Fran Patnaude, Keith Trexler, Tanya Dowd, Bob Pavlik, Copper Tritscheller, Sophie Gibson, Justin Perlman, Matt Weber, Linda Hoffman, and Ronald Zeffiro.
