The Kent Lions Club wrapped up its year on a high note. In 2024-25 we have donated more than $18,000, volunteered almost 2,000 hours and welcomed eight new members.

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the Lions’ College Scholarships: Zach Bezerra, Irine Dumitrascu, and Junxin Zhang. The Community Service award went to Emily Lang.

Kent Center School eighth grade recognition went to Mario Brito-Trinidad and Sofia Ramos.

The club voted in our new Executive Committee for 2025-2026: Jonathan Matson, president; Diane Impastato, secretary; Patti Hicks, treasurer; Karren Garrity, first vice president; Norm Moser, second vice president; Dave Stoneback, third vice president; Cooper Sheldon, fourth vice president; Lela Ogden (and Lion Tamer), vice president at large; Cathe Mazza, membership chair; and Darlene Brady, tail twister.

Summer is a quiet season for our club. You can find us in August at the Sidewalk Sales and grilling hot dogs at the Library Family Carnival.

On June 16, the club hosted a Red Cross Blood drive. Please consider donating blood at the next Red Cross drive on August 18. Here is a link Schedule Now

Our “famous” brooms are still available at Kent Wine & Spirits. Brooms are $15. Swing in and pick one up to keep things tidy over the summer!
