KENT, Conn.—School is out and Christmas is upon us. The Kent Memorial Library will take a brief break to celebrate but will be back on Friday, Dec. 26, to help youngsters get the most out of the rest of their holiday recess.

On Friday, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., it will screen “Home Alone” in the Junior Room for the entire family. Email the Junior Room to register, or register online.
Saturday, Dec. 27, the library will offer an all-day drop-in craft session. Participants can make a Melted Snowman Craft to take home. It is open to all ages.
On Monday, Dec. 29, from 2 to 3 p.m. there will be a Teen & Tween Phone-Free Hot Cocoa Hangout for grades 5-12. Bring friends and join in in the Junior Room for an hour of offline fun. Registration is appreciated by emailing the Junior Room or registering online.
Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 2 to 4p.m. is Puzzle Afternoon for all ages. Also planned for the Junior Room, there will puzzles with the whole family.
Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 11:45 a.m. the library will say goodbye to the old year and hello to the new one with a New Year’s Eve Storytime & Countdown Party that is open to all ages. Stories will examine New Year’s traditions from all around the world. Please email the Junior Room or register online.
The library will close that afternoon at 2 p.m. for New Year’s Eve and remain closed on Thursday.
