SHERMAN, Conn.—The Sherman Library is exhibiting “Abstract Reality,” works by multimedia artist Beth Levine from May 9 through June 11. An opening reception will be held Friday from to 6 to 8 p.m.

Levine uses found objects to create wall hangings, wood sculptures and jewelry using whatever medium and material speak to her in the moment. Her media and materials continuously evolve, mixing photography, wood, stones, paint, crayons, pastels, fabrics, layering it all with paper and cardboard.
She received a B.F.A. from Syracuse University, and her work has been shown at the Sculpture Barn in New Fairfield and the Hen’s Nest in Washington Depot. She is a retired graphic designer / computer graphics artist whose clients included ABC television, Philips and Solomon Brothers.
