KENT, Conn.—Recreation Director Matt Busse was delighted last Saturday when 50 youngsters showed up to romp through Parks and Recreation’s Holly, Jolly PJ Party at Kent Center School.

“That’s the most we’ve ever had [come to a program like this],” he said. All but one of the children was a Kent resident.
The evening featured holiday crafts, games, pizza, a movie, and more.
Busse gave credit to after-school program director Becca Thompson for coming up with the idea and putting it into action. “We created the night to engage the kids and give parents some time off during the holidays,” Busse said.
