KENT, Conn.—John Travolta in “Saturday Night Fever” had nothing on the moves that took place at the Kent Senior Center last Wednesday when three Kent School students, Amy H., Ainsley D. and Jilly A., guided seniors through some upbeat, energetic disco dance steps.

Amy decided to share her love of dancing with the seniors and introduced her first three students—Barbara Marcone, Jo Mellis and Lee Sohl—to the fluid movements of the dances. Both the girls and the older women were soon boogieing to the strong beat, laughing as they danced back and forth and hardly noticing that it was also a good cardio workout.

Last week’s was the first of a monthly series that will continue through the school year. The girls expect to be back in March after the school’s spring recess and hope that more seniors will come out to enjoy the activity. The program is sponsored by the Kent Social Services.
