KENT, Conn. — Two Kent residents — one adult and one student — are part of Sharon Playhouse’s production of “Annie,” which will open Saturday, July 26.

Lyra Wilder, a rising eighth-grade student at Kent Center School student, will appear as Duffy in the show, which is directed by resident Carl Andress.

The show will in Annie opening this weekend  at the Sharon Playhouse. The show, which runs from July 26 through Aug. 10, is directed by Kent resident Carl Andress and includes a star-studded cast.

Lyra has also been featured in “Oliver” and appeared as “Bowie” in Michael Baldwin’s “Young at Heart” at  there. She also  performed as Tumnus in “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and appeared in “High School Musical Jr.”

She has been an award-winning competitive dancer and plays trumpet, piano, and ukulele. She is a member of the KCS band and was featured as Sunny in the school’s recent original production of “The Hang Up.”

“Annie,” the tale of a plucky orphan, her dog, Sandy, and benefactor, Daddy Warbucks, will open Saturday and continue through Sunday, Aug. 10.

The opening weekend will feature a new schedule, offering two 2 p.m. matinees and two 7 p.m. evening performances.
