KENT, Conn.—Josephine (Cocilovo) Bauer, 97, of New Milford, formerly a longtime resident of Kent, passed away at the Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation on Saturday, July 12, 2025, after a long illness. She was the widow of Robert Hallack Bauer.

Josephine was born in Waterbury, March 22, 1928, to the late James and Vincenza (Fiore) Cocilovo. Prior to retirement, she was employed by South Kent School as a student account administrator for 26 years.
She is survived by her children, Paula Cicchetti and her husband, Joseph, of Woodbury; Robert H. Bauer Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Texas; a sister, Sarah Adams and her husband, Duane, of New Milford; two grandchildren, Carla Martinelli-Barry of Oakville and Jessica Rollman and her husband, Rob, of Hampstead, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Gianna Barry, Colin Barry, and C.J. Cervantes; and several nephews and a niece.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, at 11a.m. at Good Hills Cemetery, Route 7, Kent, with the Rev. John Heeckt officiating.
Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, is entrusted with funeral arrangements.


I have known Jo since latter 1955 when we moved to Kent. She was my second Mom and one of the reasons a lot of our Augusts were so memorable.
