WASHINGTON, Conn.—Plant lovers and garden gurus are invited to The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens for the annual Gardenpalooza event on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Local organizations, businesses, schools, and individuals will host a variety of garden-themed fun, including a “The New Beautiful: Gardening Trends You Need To Know” discussion panel at 11 a.m. with Heather Liljengren, Tovah Martin, Barbara Paul Robinson, and Richard Rosiello. It will be moderated by Michelle Madden.

Farmers and Cooks will be on site offering ready-to-eat food for purchase featuring local ingredients and the Gunn Memorial Library will offer a children’s craft.

Certified Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer horticulture questions and Connecticut Gardner Magazine will be present with information. Washington Garden Club, Anderson Acres, and Shepaug’s Ag Stem program will also be participating.

The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a gathering place in Washington that invites friends and neighbors to relax, learn, play and share all that the community offers.

As the literal and figurative town square, it hosts community events such as outdoor movies, a seasonal farmers market, rotating art exhibits, live music, theater readings and productions, book talks, and more.
