PATASKALA, OH—Denis John Wayne (aka “Mickey”) 88, of Pataskala, Ohio, grandfather of Abigale Wayne of Kent, passed away on Aug. 6, 2026, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born on March 2, 1938, in Sommerville, NJ, to Frank and Mildred (Scheffer) Wayne. On Sept. 23, 1994, he married Janet Blackford Wayne in Boca Raton, Fla., and together they shared 32 years of marriage.
Denis was a member of the Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, Conn., as well as the Atlantis Golf Club in Atlantis, Fla.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Janet, a son Daniel (Danica) Wayne, grandson Jack Wayne, and granddaughter Abigale. He was preceded in death by his sons, Denis Jr. and Douglas of New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
