KENT, Conn.—The Kent Conservation Commission has up to three grants available to assist with the cost of planting of native trees in the village center and Flanders Historic District for the 2025 planting season.
The loss of large shade trees over the years, especially in the village, has impacted the overall street tree canopy. The Kent Conservation Commission has put together a grant opportunity to support the planting of trees to begin to fill those gaps in the coming years.
In this initial funding cycle, three grants of up to $500 will be awarded to help cover the cost of planting native trees this fall in the two districts. This interested should read the Notice Of Funding Opportunity materials (here) and consider submitting an application (here).
Deadline for submitting an application is Sept. 15.
