Bryan Kevin Hagley, 62, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 30, 2025. He was the beloved son of Richard and Barbara (Chartier) Hagley.
He met the love of his life Stacie, in 1985. They started dating in 2002 and they married on Jan. 19, 2013, and shared 23 wonderful years together.
In addition to his wife and their son, Kevin Michael Hagley, both of Warren, Conn., and Kevin’s friend, Kayla Yarrison, of Plymouth, Conn., Bryan is survived by two stepsons, Dakota Geoffroy, and his wife, Haley, of Kent, Conn., and Joseph Geoffroy, and his wife, Dana, of Washington Depot, Conn. He was the loving and proud grandfather to Lainey, Niyley, Damian, and Rhiannon, with whom he delighted in all of their accomplishments, adventures, and time together. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Hagley, and his wife, Patricia, of Bristol, Conn.; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Rick Totten of Millerton, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Kim and Robert Forbes, of Gainesville, Fla., Melanie and William Fleet, of Kent, and Leslie and William Anderson, of Naugatuck, Conn.; and many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, great-great nephews, and a great-great niece.
Bryan was born Sept. 8, 1962, in Danbury, Conn. He graduated from Oliver Wolcott Regional Vocational Trade School in Automotive Shop in 1981. He started his career right after graduation at Tom’s Chevrolet in Torrington, where he became a GM Certified Master Mechanic as well as an ASE Certified Master Mechanic.
He also worked at BRJ Chevrolet which became Town & Country Chevrolet in Kent, Conn., and Audia Chevrolet in Millbrook, N.Y. He fulfilled his dream of owning his own auto repair shop, Hagley Motors in Kent, which he opened in 2014.
Bryan loved everything with an engine. He had a passion for truck pulling in the ’80s and was a member of Southern New England Truck Pullers Association. He pulled with his 1979 GMC 2500, ROWDY RED. He won multiple championships and Puller of the Year Award twice.
Years later, the pulling gene did not skip a generation. Kevin was bit by the garden tractor pulling bug. Bryan could not stay away, so he, too, joined in with tractor pulling, driving Landslide. Bryan and Stacie became part of the garden tractor pulling families of Middlesex County Tractor Pullers, New England Garden Tractor Pullers, and South Shore Garden Tractor Pullers.
Bryan was always willing to lend a hand to a fellow puller and was deeply touched when the families of all three clubs reached out and held a fundraiser for him when he was first diagnosed with cancer.
Bryan’s generous spirit, funny sense of humor, and comradery was loved by everyone that met him.
Bryan was always busy, but he very much enjoyed those times when he could get away on his Harley Davidson Ultra for a ride with the “boys” and just relax and enjoy the open road.
He very much enjoyed riding to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, which more than once, ended up on a ride up Mt. Washington. His Sunday ride with friends meant the world to him.
Bryan leaves behind a legacy of being extremely fair to his customers, generous of his time with friends, and a loving spirit to his family. Bryan could fix anything with a motor, was a great problem solver and took pride in mentoring the mechanics that worked with him. The conversations at his shop and his friendships to many will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing him.
If Bryan knew you, he would drop everything to help you, day or night. Bryan Hagley truly was one in a million.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in a celebration of Bryan’s life party on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Kent Community House, 93 North Main St, Kent. Only happy memories will be allowed.
