NEW MILFORD, Conn.–The Merryall Center will present the New York-based duo Deni Bonet and Chris Flynn Saturday, July 19, at 7:30 pm.

Bonet and Flynn have performed at venues as grand as Carnegie Hall, the White House, the United Nations, and the internationally renowned public radio program “Mountain Stage.” Last fall they played to a sold-out audience at the JCC in Sherman.

A standout feature of their sound is Bonet’s electric violin—a modern amplified version of the traditional stringed instrument. Unlike its acoustic counterpart, the electric violin is designed to be amplified enabling an extraordinary range of tones, from pure classical to rock riffs. A classically trained violinist, Bonet’s mastery of the electrified version creates a sound rarely heard in Americana performances.

Another signature feature of Bonet’s violin is its beautiful blue color. When asked why her electric violin is blue, Bonet simply replied, “why not?”

The evening will also feature special guest opener, Bruce T. Carroll, an acclaimed Americana artist hailed by No Depression magazine as “devilishly brilliant’ and “intensely beautiful.”
