GAYLORDSVILLE, Conn. — Local art will be showcased for a second weekend, Oct. 16-18, at the historic Merwinsville Hotel in Gaylordsville.

Jeanne McRoberts of Sherman takes a look at the artwork submitted to the Merwinsville Hotel’s contest. Visitors have the ability to vote on the “People’s choice” award all summer during the summer tours on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. Photo by Lynn Mellis Worthington

More than 60 artists have their work on display and for sale at the 39th annual Autumn Arts and Fine Crafts Show. The show is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

All sales support the ongoing restoration of the 183-year-old building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Those looking for gifts of original artwork by local artists will find a great variety of framed oil paintings, watercolors and photography. The fall show also features the work of artisans in glass, jewelry, woodwork, pottery, fiber arts, and more.
