KENT, Conn. — The holiday weekend brings many activities for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Among them, two major events — a special art exhibit and sale and an Art Walk.
Both events are sponsored by the Kent Chamber of Commerce.
On Saturday, May 24, the Art Walk will feature an opportunity for patrons to explore art exhibits at 10 galleries throughout town.
The businesses will be late, all from 4 to 7 p.m., and offer refreshments.
Participating galleries include WKNDDRVR, 6 Kent Green Blvd; Morrison Gallery, 60 N. Main St.; Craig Anthony Longhurst, 27 N. Main St.; Carol Corey, 6 N. Main St.; Craven Contemporary, 4 Fulling Lane; Kenise Barnes Fine Art, 7 Fulling Lane; Peggy Mercury, 9 Maple St., Unit 2; Foto Diary Studio, 3 Old Barn Road; Kent Art Association, and 21 S. Main St.; and Good Gallery, 23 S. Main St.
A two-day special exhibit and sale, “Art & Design,” will be presented Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25, at the Kent Community House.
The event will feature works by more than 20 artists.
Participants are June Bissonnette, Karen Levinson, Falconwood Farms, Linda Boston, Alison Palmer, Carol Mentos, Christine Valenti, Michael Sciulli, Adrienne Asbeck, Arlynn Asbeck, Jill Scholsohn, Will Talbot, Missy Stevens, Betts Brown, Sid Schatzky, Tom Knox, Robert Pearl, Anne Walsh, Gilded Lily Jewelry, and Elizabeth MacDonald.
Patrons can attend the event May 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and May 25 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Community House located at 93 N. Main St.
