Sharon Playhouse offers classes for young thespians

SHARON, Conn.—Sharon Playhouse has announced a series of fall classes for young thespians and dancers ages 6 to 14.

Sharon Playhouse Stars! for ages 6 to 8 will offer seven classes on Saturdays, Oct. 4 through Nov. 15, exploring songs and dances from favorite shows. Guided by director/choreographer Sarah Cuoco and music director Alec Sisco, each session runs from 12:30 to 2 p.m. 

The classes end with a special showcase in The Bok for family and friends. The cost is $200.

Kids’ Cabaret for ages 9 to 14 will also take place on Saturdays, Oct. 4 through Nov. 15, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The instructors are Michael Kevin Baldwin and Alec Sisco. Students will sharpen their skills in acting, singing and dancing while working on material from popular musicals.

The program will end with a dynamic showcase of their talents. The cost is $250.

The final program, planned for Monday, Oct. 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., is a one-day theater camp for students ages 8 to 13. The day will include games, choreography, vocal training and acting exercises under the direction of Sarah Cuoco and Alec Sisco. 

The day wraps up with a special sharing for family and friends. The cost is $130.
