SHERMAN, Conn.—The opening reception for the Sherman Artists Association “April Showcase” at the Live 4 Art Gallery in Pawling, N.Y., is Friday, April 3, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Twenty-nine artists have created more than 80 artworks including paintings, photographs, glass, woodworks and pottery.
During the reception recognition awards will be announced for Best in Show, plus first-, second- and third-place winners.
The judges are Elizabeth MacDonald and Souby Boski.
The gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays April 3 through Sunday, April 26.
Participating artists are from Patterson and Pawling, N.Y., and Bethel, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, and Sherman in Connecticut.
The artists are Terry Ariano, Bethe Bogues, Randy Carboni, Donna Castelluccio, Greg Chadwick, Phyllis Chadwick, Carolyn Cohen, Eva DeFranco, Cynthia Dunn, Jennifer Forlastro, Jeff Ginsburg, Karen Golden, Tony Gomez, Bill Gore, Ted Hollander, Linda Hubbard, Elizabeth Knowles, Kenny Litwack, Susan Locke, Mary Jane Magoon, Courtney Onofer, Terry Pasquale, Kathy Peck, Charlene Leichter, Jamie Seymour, Virginia Schaffer, Lynn Slonaker, James Stasiak and Estelle Trabucco.
The Sherman Artists Association is based in Sherman and includes artists from surrounding communities in New York and Connecticut.
It is a non-profit organization that promotes the visual arts and educates the public by providing a means for artists to share their knowledge, support, and inspiration. It has monthly meetings the second Wednesday of each month with speakers. It also hosts several events including the upcoming Art Supply Tag Sale, planned for May 22-24, and ARTFEST on June 19-21.
