KENT, Conn. — The Kent Memorial Library will offer a program, “Digital Safety for Youth: What Parents Should be Talking About,” Thursday, July 24, at 5:30 p.m.

The program will be presented by Project Sage.

In today’s world, online gaming and social media have brought the potential for strangers to enter the home in the guise of peers and friends for youth.

With platforms constantly changing and new apps appearing regularly, it can be challenging for adults to keep children safe from online exploitation.

The 90-minute interactive workshop is designed for parents, guardians, and caregivers of teens and tweens that provides a foundation for talking with youth about online safety, including online stranger danger, artificial intelligence, and more.

A safe space for adult participants to practice having the often uncomfortable conversations with youth who has been targeted for exploitation.
