KENT, Conn.—Nestled in its comfy temporary quarters at 12-13 Landmark Lane, the Kent Memorial Library has resumed accepting books for its annual summer used book sale.

The library, which has relocated while its old building is renovated and expanded, recently received Planning and Zoning Commission approval to use a building at 4 Green Pastures Lane for book storage and the lawn in front of that building for the sale.
A well-established tradition that draws both locals and tourists, the book sale contributes significantly to the library’s annual budget. It offers a wide array of current best sellers, mysteries, biographies, art, history books and more, all sorted by categories and displayed on long tables. There is also an expanded collection of jigsaw puzzles.
No encyclopedias, novels from the 1990s or earlier (unless of special worth), outdated non-fiction books (travel guides, legal advice, financial and the like), Reader’s Digest condensed books, magazines, or books that smell musty, are damaged or are stained can be accepted. Neither can VHS tapes, cassettes and records, although the library will accept DVDs, CDs and jigsaw puzzles
The sale is held on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays, weather permitting, from Memorial Day weekend through the end of October.
The sale is manned by volunteers and those who would like to give of time and talent are asked to call 860-927-3761 or to speak in person at the front desk.
