KENT, Conn.—Cynthia Crier took the Best in Show award this year at the Kent Art Association’ Fall Juried Show, which is on view through Nov. 30. 

Forty-five artists presented 104 works. Second place went to Melody Ashbury for her painting titled “On the Move” and third place went to Theresa Kenny for her floral painting, “Magnificent.” The Watertown Artist League Award went to Nancy Lasar for her work “Fly, Fly Away.” 

There were five Honorable Mentions for specific areas including Bill Merklein for Best Representational Work titled “McGoldrick’s Farm”; Carla Shere for Best Abstract Work for her piece “Wiggle Wam”; Stacy Bogdonoff for Best in Fiber Work for her piece “They Moved to England”; Ron Lake for Best in Photography for “Ode to Andrew Wyeth” and Scott Bricker for the Judges Choice Award for his etching “Migration.” 

The selection committee for the show were Tom Yost and Linda West.

The gallery hours at Kent Art Association are Thursday through Saturday, 1-5 p.m., and Sunday noon-4 p.m. The Kent Art Association is located at 21 South Main St.
