If you have a soft spot for old tools, rusty metal, and the stories that come with them, this one is worth a Saturday morning.
The Antique Tools and Trades in Connecticut (ATTIC) will host an Antique Tool Festival and Swap Meet on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association grounds in Kent. Bring along an old or antique tool for appraisal or swap—or simply come browse and talk shop with fellow enthusiasts.
The event gets underway with setup at 7:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public, with refreshments available.
It’s the kind of distinctly local gathering we love: part history lesson, part treasure hunt, and part chance to meet people who can tell you exactly what that mysterious old implement in your garage was actually used for.
Go curious. You never know what you’ll find—or what you’ll learn about the tools hiding in your own collection.
