KENT, Conn.—The Kent Art Association will present a film showing of “Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse” Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Kent Memorial Library.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own food and drink.
Through the acclaimed exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, the film explores the way artists used the modern garden to explore radical new ideas. Using the work of Monet as a starting point, this 2016 exhibition examined the role gardens played in the evolution of art from the early 1860s through to the 1920s. The video series take viewers into the gardens of artists such as Claude Monet, Pierre Bonnard and Emil Nolde.
