KENT, Conn.—The Kent Democratic Town Committee will welcome Connecticut Attorney General William Tong for a special fundraising event on Wednesday, May 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 109 Cheese and Wine in Kent Green.

This intimate gathering will offer guests the opportunity to hear directly from Attorney General Tong about the work he is leading on behalf of Connecticut residents and communities across the nation. Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased here.
Tong has emerged as a national leader on many of the most pressing legal and policy issues of our time. His work includes bipartisan multistate efforts to hold the pharmaceutical industry accountable for its role in the opioid crisis, restoring competition and fair pricing in the generic drug market, addressing harms social media platforms may cause to children and young people, combating robocall scams and protecting consumer privacy rights.
Recently elected president of the National Association of Attorneys General, Tong has also been a steadfast defender of civil rights and freedoms, working alongside attorneys general nationwide to protect the rights of women, minority communities, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ individuals. He has pledged to defend access to reproductive healthcare wherever it is threatened.
Closer to home, Tong has aggressively defended Connecticut’s post-Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting gun safety laws, challenged ExxonMobil over climate misinformation, and recently helped ensure the completion of the Revolution Wind Farm project after federal efforts sought to halt it. Over the last two years, he has also filed more than 40 lawsuits challenging actions of the Trump administration.
“Attorney General William Tong is a hero to many people across Connecticut, and we are honored to welcome him to Kent,” said the Kent Democratic Town Committee Vice Chairman Melissa Cherniske “We hope residents will join us to learn more about the cases he is fighting, his goals for a third term in office, and to thank him for his tremendous service.”
In addition to hearing from Tong, guests will enjoy beverages and light bites prepared by 109 Cheese and Wine.
Proceeds from ticket sales will support the ongoing activities of the Kent Democratic Town Committee.
