KENT, Conn.—Residents can dispose of hazardous household waste Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Danbury Public Works, 53 Newtown Road.

In addition to Kent, the collection day is open to residents of Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, Weston and Wilton.

Protocols for participation include remaining in your vehicle at all times; placing only items you want removed at the back of your vehicle and being ready with your driver’s license for proof of residency.

Workers will remove the contents from the car. The wait time varies from five to 30 minutes, depending on the volume of traffic. The sponsoring agency, the Housatonic Resource Recovery Authority, reserves the right to inspect vehicles with excessive amounts of material. Large quantities are subject to fees.
