KENT, Conn.—The 29th annual Kent Center School Scholarship Fund Chocolate Fest will take place in the Kent Center School cafeteria on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., with a snow date of Thursday, Feb. 12.

For $5, visitors can buy a to-go plate already filled with tasty treats, or stand in line and pick the sweets that call out to them from platters filled with delicious treats.

Donations are welcome and can be dropped off at KCS on Feb. 11, between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Goodies don’t have to be chocolate, but they do need to be peanut/nut-free. Easy-to-pick-up items such as cookies, brownies, cupcakes, fudge and the like, work better than full-size cakes and pies.

The Chocolate Fest benefits the Kent Center School Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to graduates of Kent Center School who have attended the school for a minimum of two consecutive years including grades seven and eight.

Recipients may reapply for scholarships to provide support during each school year for a maximum of five years. “Post secondary” education can include two- and four-year college programs, post-graduate work, as well as vocational and technical schools.

Over the past 64 years, the generosity of donors has allowed the Scholarship Fund to award more than $2,000,000 in scholarships to more than 1,500 graduates of Kent Center School.
