From The Den:
The Kent Lions Club says “thanks” to all who came to the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association’s Fall Festival last month where club members flipped burgers and sold food to the crowd. It was a great event this year—the weather was perfect and there were lots of visitors enjoying all the exhibits.
Club members went to the Kent Farmer’s Market to sell our renowned Lion’s brooms. If you would like to purchase a broom, they are available at Kent Wine & Spirits. Brooms are $15. Swing in and pick one up for your fall clean ups. Or send us an email at info@KentLions.org and we will put one aside for you.
It was another beautiful day and wonderful to see so many folks.
We will facilitate the eyesight screening at Kent Center School and hosting the blood drive on Monday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please consider donating blood that day. There are still appointments available, you can sign up click HERE
On Halloween, the club will distribute glow-in-the-dark safety necklaces in front of Bain Real Estate.

At our monthly meeting we had a presentation from Puppies Behind Bars, a program that trains incarcerated individuals to raise service dogs for wounded war veterans and first responders, facility dogs for police departments and explosive-detection canines for law enforcement. During the meeting, we met Sophie.
