KENT, Conn.—Social Services Director Samantha Hasenflue has expressed her thanks to the Kent Lions and Davis IGA for a large donation of food to the Kent Food Bank.

The Lions conducted a food drive for Kent Social Services at the supermarket and donated $2,000 and baskets full of groceries to the food bank.

“To say we are lucky to have the support is an understatement,” wrote Hasenflue in a post. “The food bank shelves have not looked this full in months.” She added that it has been a “struggle to maintain a decent supply. Our food bank participants are going to be so happy and surprised to have so many choices.”
