KENT—The Eric Sloane Museum will present a “How to Hew a Log” workshop Saturday, Oct. 5 ,from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The hands-on workshop at the 31 Kent Cornwall Road museum will explore hand-hewing techniques and methods taught by preservation carpenter, Nevan Carling.

Students will learn the basics of timber selection and beam layout while using traditional tools and methods to create a hand-hewn finished product.

Pre-registration is required.
