KENT—In an eight-minute meeting (surely a record for brevity in recent Kent history), the Zoning Board of Appeals last week approved its 2024 meeting schedule.

It was the last meeting of the current board and next month will see the addition of Daniel Schiesel, who recently won over incumbent Nicholas Downes, 712-455.

Chairman Anne Bisenius thanked Downes for his service. “We are very sad to not have you serving with us. You’ve served long and well,” she said, and encouraged him to consider filling a vacant alternate seat.

“I hope there may be an opportunity for that,” said Downes. “We’ll see what happens.”
